The Govt. of Manipur has issued various online facilities regarding Ration Card.The Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Government of Manipur is a regulatory Department and responsible for distribution of essential commodities namely rice, wheat, sugar, edible oil and kerosene oil under the Public Distribution System i.e. PDS .The following are the activities of  Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, which are discussed below.

Types of Ration Card in Manipur

Antyodaya Ration Cards : People who are having monthly income is unstable gets Antyodaya Ration Cards. Old Age persons, Unemployed people, Laborers come under this category.

BPL Cards : The people who have earning less then Rs. 24200 per annum falls under BPL category and they are liable to receive food and grains at very cheap cost by Government.

APL Cards :People who are having annual income more than 24200/- per annum get APL Cards. These category are not liable for food grains though Government.

Apply For Ration Card In Manipur

An applicant who desires to obtain a ration card has to apply to the Rationing Office of his area in the prescribed form. The Rationing area is controlled by the Controller of the Rationing Office. At the district & Tehsil levels, the District Supply Officer and the Tehsildar respectively are the authorities for the processing of applications.

Procedure:

  • The applicants have to submit Ration Card Application form along with a copy of residential proof such as house rent receipt, bank passbook, electricity/telephone bill, driving licence, identity card, and NOC from house owner or a copy of the agreement if the premises is rented.
  • An affidavit that the applicant does not have a ration card, is also required.

In Case of Transfer :

In case of transfer of a ration card, the applicant has to produce the certificate of cancellation of the previous ration card from the issuing authority along with ration card application form in prescribed format.

For Addition of Member in Ration Card

For the addition of a child’s name in the existing ration card, a copy of the birth certificate of the child whose name is being added is required. Similarly, to add spouse’s name, the certificate of deletion of the name of the spouse from the previous ration card is required.

Time Frame for Disposal of Ration Card

  • Surrender certificate of Ration Card : same day
  • Issue of New Ration Card : approx 30 days
  • Addition of Member in ration Card: 10 days
  • Deletion of member in Ration Card : 10 days
  • Change in address : 10 days
